Carissa Cornwell  | National Outreach Director

 

For over twelve years Carissa Cornwell has been a pillar within the electronic music community and known best for her work with DanceSafe.  In 1999 she started a DanceSafe chapter in Madison, Wisconsin, which expanded into Midwest DanceSafe.  In 2003 she joined the Board of Directors and currently is the secretary. Carissa is the National Outreach Director and responsible for all volunteers and chapters. Development of training curriculum and outreach strategies are just a few of her tasks. DanceSafe currently has 8 active chapters with several more in the works.

 

 


 

 

Chalaina Connors, MA, LPC

Chalaina Connors graduated from the Washington State University in Washington State with a B.S. in Psychology. She received her Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Pacific University in Oregon. Her background is working with teenagers, young adults in a wide range of issues, such as substance use, sexuality, and issues surrounding trauma, depression, anxiety, and unhealthy relationships. She runs the Portland DanceSafe chapter, and has been active with DanceSafe since 1999. She has been a member of the electronic dance community since 1999 and feels very connected to this community and is passionate about helping people feel safe and have healthy relationships throughout their lives.  

 
 



Missi Wooldridge, M.P.H.

Missi Wooldridge graduated from the State University of New York at Potsdam with a B.S. in Community Health.  She earned her Master's in Public Health with a focus in Social Behavior and Community Health from the State University of New York at Albany. Her background is in health behavior theory, program planning, program evaluation, drug studies, and addiction as a public health concern. She was voted onto the Board of Directors in 2011. She has been a member of the electronic music community for years and brings her personal experiences and educational background to DanceSafe. Missi is the founder and director of the Denver chapter of DanceSafe. 
 
 

Bryan Oley

Bryan Oley was a founder of the Sacramento California Dancesafe chapter which started in 1999.  At the request of the founder, he then created and staffed the Dancesafe Online Information Booth (a series of forums) which ran from 2003 - 2010 and had just over 20,000 active users participating in online harm reduction discussions and spreading education to those in need.  Named Board President in 2001 when the founder (Emanuel Sferios) stepped down, he presided over the organization until 2010 when he took on the role of CIO for the organization.
